Reading The Skin That We Speak has changed me and my perspectives because before reading this book, I had not heard many people’s personal stories of cultural struggles due to language and culture barriers and differences. After reading this book, I have learned multiple perspectives that I believe will be helpful in my teaching career. Being able to connect to this book was surprisingly not difficult for me. I was able to make many different connections that reminded me of experiences I have seen before, but from a different perspective than my own. Just about every chapter I was able to pick things out that resonated with me, so I found writing the discussion posts on this book very easy. I hope people got a lot out of my posts and I highlighted things that both they did too and they might have missed and shed light on certain topics.
